We work hard to promote gratitude at Fiske School!  After attending NAESP2015, I brought back an idea shared by a colleague that has been really popular with staff.  Our school mascot is an owl (Hoot), and we created “Give a WHOOT Grams” where you can thank a colleague for something they’ve done for you.  Once you fill out the form, which we have near mailboxes, you then cut off the stub and put it in a small container.  At each staff meeting, I draw one stub and the giver and the recipient of the note get a small token of appreciation from me.  The prizes aren’t big (under $5.00) but it is amazing at how many thank you’s are generated from staff to one another as a way of showing appreciation.  It is just another great thing about Fiske School and the culture we all work to foster!
