Have you ever been amazed at what kids can produce when you set high expectations and engage them?  The accompanying picture is of a piece of art that was compiled by a grade level that worked with Giles LaRoche, a paper cutting artist that did a residency with our school for a week.  Each student had a one hour period to work with him and create a small piece of art based on a grade level theme connected to North America.  They (students) then created a large compilation by grade level and as a school, our students generated 8 large pieces of art.  I love coming into the office each day and seeing art work that our students created.  With encouragement, support, realistically high expectations, and some vision, students did a very fine job.
