Last night, another Back to School Night/Curriculum Night went “down in the books”.  The teachers, as always, were nervous and worked hard to prepare for parents, hoping to inform them and show what students do in class each day for the respective K-5 classrooms.  This year, for the portion I was responsible for, we showed a short video after introducing the staff.  Our video highlighted one school’s portrayal of “hope” and we felt that it was representative of our school and what we hoped for students. I don’t think that hope is a strategy, but I do think you need to start somewhere.  It was nice to get positive feedback after the presentation from parents that appreciated the message and the work we do with their children!  Overall, a successful night for parents and staff!
